Controlled Distribution of Content for the Mobile Enterprise


ShareX is a file-sharing app purpose-built for controlling the distribution of sensitive content to dispersed project teams.


When content is uploaded to the cloud, organizations are at risk of losing control of confidential information. ShareX restores that control while still meeting the team’s need for mobility. In ShareX the site admin pushes documents to the team, but also purges those documents at a moment’s notice, for example in case a device is lost.


The app is encrypted and protected by two-factor authentication while the content is hosted on secure servers instead of in the Cloud. Data is encrypted using strong ciphers, both during network transport and while resident on the servers. In contrast to typical cloud solutions, ShareX provides a closed-loop environment that bars users from leaking content outside the system.


ShareX auto-syncs, so shared files viewed online are available offline without any action required from the user. Documents are downloaded to a secure Briefcase for offline access. The Briefcase lets the user view and annotate documents as if they were online. When network connectivity is restored, any notes made in offline mode will auto-sync back to the server, without action required on the part of the user. The Briefcase is encrypted and password-protected, and any content downloaded to the Briefcase remains under the central administrative control. That means the administrator has the ability to remote-purge any content from any team member’s device, whether this is because the project was completed or the device was lost or stolen.


ShareX has no limitation on the sites or initiatives that can be run in parallel. Because all sites are ring-fenced, content is segregated by site, and users only have access to the sites and content for which they are explicitly authorized.
